How to Measure yourself
Tips and tricks for more accurate measurements
The easiest way is to have a friend or a family member take your measurements, but if you don’t have anyone around you can always stand in front of a mirror.
Make sure to wear comfortable clothes like a leotard or leggings and a t-shirt that is close to the body but not too tight. Taking accurate measurements is one of the keys to the perfect fit of the garment. Do NOT wear too tight or too loose-bulky clothing when you’re measuring yourself. Avoid wearing a padded or push-up bra.
Make sure you have all the required tools: soft measuring tape, a piece of string, something to mark points on your body like sticky markers or sticky tape, and something to write your measurements on.
Several measurements will be taken from the same points on the body. These points should be clearly indicated so that the exact same location is used each time. (explained in the right video down below)
Always start measuring from your waist.
Because all vertical measurements are connected with the waistline, the easiest and fastest way for you to take your measurements is to tie a piece of string around your waistline. Be careful the string shouldn’t be too tight or too loose tied. Then bend side to side a few times, this movement will help the string to position itself on the smallest part of your torso which is your natural waistline. Then wrap your measuring tape around your waistline and once you’re happy record your measurement.
Use the string as a guideline for the rest of the measurements. From here it will be easier for you to measure all the vertical measurements on your body such as hips to waist, bust to waist, and nape to waist.
When you take your horizontal measurements( hips, waist, bust, chest, and back ) remember that the measuring tape should always be parallel to the ground.
Be aware of your posture. Stand in a comfortable posture with your feet close together and breathe normally.

.
Your natural waistline sits in the area between the top of your hip bones and the bottom of your rib cage approximately 2,5 cm above your bellybutton. (it can be positioned higher or lower then this number depending on the body type and genetics)
REMINDER: Tie a string around your waistline. The string should sit comfortably making sure it’s not too tight or too loose tied. Then bend side to side a few times. This movement will allow the string to position itself on the smallest part of your torso which is your natural waistline. Once you‘ve found your waistline, tie the string firmly around your waistline and from here you can take the rest of the vertical measurements.
